children's story posters

I am loving these posters by Christian Jackson of Square Inch Design Blog! And I mean LOVE. He made posters for some of the most well-known children's stories that it's not hard to instantly identify with the simple graphics.  I'm drawn to the Snow White and The Three Little Pigs...but with so many to choose from, it's hard to pick a favorite. How about you? Which ones do you like? Check out all 15 here and let me know what you think.

{great finds} chocolate! part 3

I wanted to save this for last but I was so excited, I thought I'd go ahead with this one. I actually think this is my best discovery yet!

Mary & Matt Chocolate Editions. I stumbled upon this after googling 'special edition chocolate.' I was really looking for special editions of my favorite chocolates but found this instead...

white, caramel, and strawberry from the primary editions
Aren't they just delightful?! Simplicity and chocolate all rolled into one! Yes, chocolate can be plain and still look beautiful.

It's too bad they don't deliver outside of the U.S. ...I really want to try these and see if they taste as good as they look. But I guess I'll have to wait until I go there for a visit.

p.s. I'll be posting the last one under gift ideas...coming soon!

happy thanksgiving

Thanksgiving isn't really a holiday we celebrate in the Philippines...but still, I'd like to say Thank You to my family and friends for all the love, friendship, understanding, and support. I am where I am because of you and I am glad to have you in my life. I am truly blessed!

{great finds} chocolate! part 2

Look at what else I found during my visit in Singapore: Chocolate Research Facility

Chocolate Research Facility at Wheelock
I had actually read about it in a magazine a couple of weeks before my trip, and I remember telling my boyfriend we should include it in our list of places to see. But I completely forgot about it while we were there, and would've almost missed it too had we not come across it on our way to another store...on our last day!

the boxes were so colorful!

There were so many designs (flavors) to choose from, that I couldn't decide what to get! They have several series--classic, nut, fruit, alcohol, coffee, tea, and seasonal, among others. But like I said in my last post, I'm not that adventurous when it comes to chocolate (I know, corny!). So what did I end up getting? Macadamia dark and pistachio milk chocolate...

The family and I devoured the chocolate as soon I got home! I still have the boxes though--I think I want to collect them, maybe get a couple of boxes each time I visit (at at least SGD10, they're a bit pricey for me). Of course, for me to do that, I'll have to start trying new flavors!

{great finds} chocolate! part 1

I'm not that adventurous when it comes to chocolate. I have my favorites and I usually just stick with them--Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kat, Crunch (I can always count on these to satisfy any sudden craving for sweets), and also Guylian Belgian Chocolate and Ferrero Rocher (these are more like rare treats since I usually wait for someone to give them).

But this year I made a few discoveries. I probably wouldn't be adding them to my list of favorites, just yet...but I want to share them with you because I just love how they look! Here's the first of four:
dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and hazelnut chocolate from IKEA
While I was in Singapore a few months ago, I came across these chocolate bars in Ikea. I was already on my way out, disappointed that everything I wanted was too big to take home to the Philippines, when I saw someone unpacking some boxes at the Swedish Food Market, which is near the exit. I didn't know what it was at first, but the packaging appealed to me. So I went to take a closer look and found dark chocolate, milk chocolate and hazelnut chocolate bars with the most simple, straightforward wrappers. I loved it! And since it was less then two Singapore dollars each, i decided to get some for me, and a few more for pasalubong.

I only got to taste the milk chocolate since I ended up giving most of them away. But my friends say they were good, and from what I had, I would agree. Now, I still have one last bar of dark chocolate but I'm saving it to bake with. I'll let you know how that turns out once I get around to actually baking something.

Have you tried them? Would you know if they're available locally?
