{loving} instagram and instaprint

My cousins and I recently "discovered" instagram...or should I say, we've finally succumbed to the popular app. I know, I know...it's been around for some time now. Before you judge me, you should understand that I've been using an old phone for the past 5 or so years (still am actually, since the iPhone my sister passed on to me is busted) so I couldn't access the app sooner. It was only when I got hold of an iPad that I was able to appreciate instagram's simplistic approach to documenting moments and what-nots. Imagine, you get stylized photos without having to resort to photoshop...how cool is that?!

I guess I should get the iPhone fixed so I can start taking photos with instagram. (*DISCLAIMER: I do not go around taking photos with the iPad. I still think people who do that just look silly!) For now, I'm happy with just viewing my cousins' and friends' photos. But it got me thinking...Can you print the photos you take with instagram?

Turns out, you can! I found this thing called Instaprint which was developed by a group that calls themselves Breakfast. What I love about it is that it prints your photos wirelessly, it doesn't require ink, and the box/printer itself simply looks good!

Unfortunately, Instaprint is not yet available. Breakfast is still in the process of turning this prototype into a diy kit that you could get for about $400...and they need our help. They've posted this product on Kickstarter and they are looking for backers to help get this project going. So if like me, you are loving this concept, please pledge what you can and help them raise the funds needed... 'cause I really want this on my wall! (C'mon, you know you want it too!)

Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think.

what's next for target?

My favorite store is adding new babies! Target is partnering with several boutique shops from across America to bring their items closer to you...and they look like a great selection too! The Shops at Target is scheduled to open in May 2012... Now I have another reason to visit the States again!

my type of movie poster

The past few months have been very busy for me (this is my first post for this year!) so I'm glad I'll be able to take the day off today to watch a movie with my boyfriend. Can you guess what I'm watching? Here's a clue...

Now, if you haven't read the book, or even watched the movie, you may not get what this poster is all about...but because I have read it, I loved it from the moment I saw it! Isn't it interesting how one line can instantly bring you back to the story? There's no need for mentioning the title anymore...that one line and the simple graphics speaks for itself!

Here's another one...can you guess the movie?

greetings from manila

Festive are the parties where food, drinks and gifts overflow. But nothing could be more joyful than to discover what true Christmas is. May our celebration of Christmas remind us of the love of God in Jesus Christ!

-something I found online....i think it rings true for us Filipinos who are sure to be partying all night...but remember, the greatest gift we have received is the love of God! Merry Christmas everyone!

{gift ideas} top picks for christmas

Every year for Christmas, I pick out two to three things to give as gifts--it just makes shopping much easier (for me at least). Not that I grab the first thing I see and buy in bulk...I still put some thought into it, in case you're wondering, and that's because my mom once told me, 'Give something you would want yourself.'

So here are my three picks for this year:

1. monogrammed mugs. I love the font on these mugs--not too fancy, not too plain. The ones pictured here are from Anthropologie, but you can can find nice mugs in SM Homeworld, Landmark, Uniwide Warehouse Club, or Divisoria and just have them monogrammed at any print shop.

2. artisan chocolate from the philippines. I first saw this on my friend's facebook page and instantly fell in love with the packaging (of course!). What's interesting though, is that it's made with green mango and sea salt. Now I love chocolate..and I love green mango with salt. But together? It just seemed weird. So I had to try for myself and well, it was actually good! Check out Theo & Philo for all the other flavors.
3. be well teas. I didn't think these were available locally until I saw them at healthy options. I love how they're made for specific 'needs.' There's one for clear skin, one for digestion, one for energy, one for detoxing...you'll find the full range at the republic of tea. (oh, and it wouldn't be me if I didn't say I first noticed this because of the simple packaging...and the bright colors are just too cute!)
